Our room was comfortable. The hotel was charming and the employees friendly and helpful. Comfortable and quiet. Room was definitely charming and the beds were comfortable. The hotel is charming! Always a lovely place to stay in downtown Placerville. Great hotel and history! It was awesome staying in a historic hotel. Everything is in good condition. I just like how unique the hotel is. It had a chess table in the lobby and I was able to play with it. It was comfortable and is a great experience! Welcome to the Historic Cary House Hotel. Our past guest names include Mark Twain, Buffalo Bill, John Studebaker, Elvis Presley. Nestled in the heart of the California gold country, and central to booming El Dorado County, The Historic Cary House is "The Jewel of Placerville." Our lobby will envelope you in comfort featuring antique and vintage furnishings. With the ivy covered Courtyard and the Milton Room for banquets/meetings, we can easily accommodate a group of 50 to 60 people.
