The main building was built in 1930 as a rooming house serving navy personnel stationed at Fort Zachary Taylor. The rooming house has been through many incarnations over the years, from gambling house to bordello, and is now back to offering respectable guest accommodations. Several adjacent buildings were added to the compound in the 1980's that provide larger guest suites and cottages. Today the guesthouse includes ten original ÔÇ£rooming houseÔÇØ rooms and several king suites and cottages to comprise twenty guest units. Merlin is named after a local ÔÇ£conchÔÇØ named Merlin Albury, who is now buried at the Key West Cemetery.Merlin Guesthouse offers a range of prices and room amenities.
