In 2015 Fairmont Southampton completed an $11.5 million renovation and the 402 guest rooms, suites and corridors on floors 1-4 have been completely renovated. The guest rooms' design features a rich palette of island sophistication, incorporating inspiration from Bermuda's lush landscape. The guest rooms offer a warm color scheme with pops of orange, lime, and turquoise. The guest rooms and suites are light, bright, and contemporary while still true to the spirit of Bermuda. The renovation included soft and case goods including: carpets, drapes, wall coverings, headboards, occasional tables, seating, lighting, mirrors, and artwork. In addition new built-in dressers units are installed in all walk-in closets. Additional enhancements in recent years include a reimagining of The Newport Room into The Newport, a Gastropub, as well as the addition of The Dock at The Waterlot, a new outdoor lounge. From a technology perspective wireless internet access has been added to all public spaces, including the beach, pools and restaurants. In May 2016, the new Wickets Coffee Bar opened in hotel's lower lobby. Additional renovation projects planned for 2016 include The Waterlot Inn Restaurant and Jasmine Lounge, including soft good renovations carpet, wall coverings, tables and chairs.
