A local Kichwa community welcomes you into their culture, learn about their way of life, customs and values, and take a canoe ride departing from our pier and to the Tiyuyaku Community. At the beginning of the tour you will be shown how the community extracts gold from the river for sale by using panning techniques, following, you will be taken to their ceremony center where the indigenous women will demonstrate different customs such as the making of ceramic plates, chicha drink and guayusa tea. Have a try with the blowpipe, a hunting instrument used by the indigenous people.

From the airport: The closest airport to Selina Tena is Mariscal Sucre International Airport in Quito, Ecuador (UIO / SEQM). From Quito, you are 5-6 hrs from Tena by bus, or 3 hrs 30 min by car. Taxis are available outside the airport at all times. It should cost around 12 - 15USD to catch a ride to the Quitos Quitumbe bus terminal. Take a bus to Terminal Terrestre de Tena, then take a taxi to Selina Tena. Local Shuttle Info: By bus: One block away from the Main Bus Terminal in Tena you'll find the Centinela Bus Terminal. From there, take the bus to Ahuano. From another Selina: If you are coming from Quito take the third exit at Jumandy Indian roundabout and keep going for 10 minutes until you reach Puerto Napo. Here, take a left after crossing the small bridge and keep going for 10 more minutes until you see the Selina sign. If you are using taxi, you can ask to be taken to Via al Ahuano. This is a 20min ride from the center of Tena, keep going until you see the Selina sign.
Yes! Pets are allowed. Selina is pet friendly! Pet owners are required to book private rooms, as pets are not permitted in dormitories. There is also a cost of $10 per pet per night.
